First Congregational Church of East Bloomfield

Rich in heritage, bonded in love, growing in Christ.

Associate Pastor Andy Schaefer

Greetings!

My family and I have been a part of the First Congregational Church family since 2005, and I’d like to tell you what drew us to this congregation.

The first thing was - music! The crowd at First Congregational may be small, but they sing with heart and soul.

Secondly, though our kids didn’t always look and act like “good church children” the people of First Congregational accepted and loved them with all their hearts. As our children have grown and walked their own paths, the church continues to love and support them.

Thirdly, and most importantly, this church knows that the natural response to God’s love is to love others. Whether it’s rallying around a member in crisis, or responding to a need on the other side of the world, the people here rise to the occasion time and time again.

If you are here because you are looking for a church home, a place to be loved and inspired, to share your gifts and know the love of God working through your life, I hope you will come and meet us. I am confident you will not be disappointed!

Welcome and Thank You for visiting our website.

I hope you will take a few moments to navigate through this site and learn more about us. We embrace “traditional” values and our church heritage can be traced back to 1796. That being said, we continually strive to be relevant by seeking new and innovative ways to share the good news of the Lord’s Gospel through our message, music and outreach ministries. We offer a contemporary worship service on the third Sunday of every month.

We are a diverse congregation who try their best to be Christ-like by welcoming the stranger in our midst. For a church family that numbers less than 75, we are very active. Known in the area as a church that enjoys activities involving food and serving others, our congregation takes pride in the several community dinners we host throughout the year. Some of the profits from these dinners go to support local school activities, hospices, food cupboards and other charities. Members of our congregation host a weekly game night for the residents of a local senior citizen apartment complex. We also enjoy inviting the youth of our community to join us for annual Halloween and Christmas activities.

Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. Child care is available. Immediately following each service we gather in fellowship hall for a continuation of Christian fellowship and light refreshments. All are welcome.

If you are searching for a church home, please consider visiting us.

See you in church!

Pastor Sandy
